From what I've seen and heard from past students, Ahmadu Bello University really takes training future government leaders seriously. The Kongo campus is actually known for focusing on public administration and local government. I remember a friend saying they had tons of group projects that mimic real government work, and the lecturers are usually involved in research about Nigerian politics. There's this sense that you're not just learning theory—you talk about real government problems and even get to meet alumni who are now lawmakers or public servants. Also, the school runs workshops and seminars where government officials come to talk. That makes it easier to get internships in ministries or even small government offices. One of my uncles got his first government job just because his ABU professor recommended him. So yeah, ABU is pretty good at helping you build those connections and skills if you want to work in law, government, or public policy later. But you've got to network a lot and maybe join associations, because they won't just hand you jobs on a platter.
