From what I've seen around Abuja, businesses are really feeling the pinch because of this long AEDC power outage. Imagine trying to run a store or restaurant without electricity!
In my neighborhood, some shops have shut down temporarily, while others are using generators to keep things running. But, honestly, generators aren't cheap. I remember chatting with a shop owner who told me he's shelling out a lot more cash each day just on fuel. It's like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in it.
For some businesses, especially local ones that rely on perishables like small grocery stores, they're watching their stock spoil. Fresh foods need to be refrigerated, and without constant power, it's a disaster waiting to happen.
On the flip side, I know of some tech-savvy folks who are switching to solar power for the long haul. It seems like a smart move, but setting up solar panels costs a fortune upfront.
People are getting creative, but if AEDC doesn’t sort this out soon, it could seriously mess with their finances long-term. For anyone operating a business, it's a real headache!
