Honestly, I think it all comes down to how much Funke Akindele goes out of her way to help others level up in Nollywood. Like, she doesn’t just focus on her own movies and acting. She actually uses her platform to put other actors in the spotlight and give them real chances to shine. You probably see a lot of her in things like Jenifa’s Diary or other super popular projects, but it’s the behind-the-scenes stuff I’ve seen online that’s wild. So many actors, like Nkechi Blessing, post gratitude messages basically saying their careers wouldn’t be where they are if it wasn’t for Funke looking out for them or giving them proper roles to prove themselves.
I remember when Nkechi had some public drama and lost a bunch of big deals, but Funke Akindele still showed her support. That’s pretty rare in that industry. I’ve seen a lot of fans call Funke the actual star maker because she has this habit of finding underrated talent and helping them get noticed, which is not something every top celeb does. So, yeah, she totally earns that title if you ask me!
