People are super split over the Tyler Perry straw movie and I'm not even surprised. A lot of fans who usually love his movies are confused by the tone of this one. It deals with some super sad topics, but the script and the acting didn't hit home for everybody. Some say it was trying too hard to pull off a twist, while others actually liked that it didn't follow the usual Tyler Perry formula.

I've talked to friends who bawled their eyes out by the end because of the emotional reveal, but others felt like it came out of nowhere and didn't feel earned. There's also talk about the movie being relatable for some, but just plain predictable for others, which adds to the drama.

For me, it was different than what I expected. It's the kind of movie that you finish and immediately want to see what everyone else thought, just to compare. I guess that's why everyone's so split on it – it's either gonna hit you really hard, or you'll be left wondering what all the fuss is about.
