Straight up, Preakness 2025 is huge because it’s the last time the race is being held at the old Pimlico Race Course. I’ve followed the Preakness for years, mostly for the Triple Crown hype, but this year’s got a wild twist. The track’s been around forever, and my friends always joked about the rickety stands and classic, gritty Baltimore vibe. Now that the course is set to be torn down after this race, it feels like the end of an era — like, you’ll never get that exact same feeling or history again.
What’s kinda crazy is that some longtime fans are ticked, thinking that changing Pimlico kills the old-game spirit. Others argue it’ll make the race way better with new tech and safer turf. Personally, I’m bummed but honestly curious to see what they build next. For hardcore gamers and racing fans, it’s not just another event… it’s like the Super Bowl mixed with a stadium farewell. If you ever wanted to experience the real Preakness scene, this is literally your last shot before everything changes.
