Honestly, I've noticed people still get weirded out about Friday the 13th but, like, most of us know it's just a superstition. I think the reason a bunch of people still make a deal out of it is because it's sort of become its own thing thanks to movies, memes, and everything. The Friday the 13th movies made it this big scary day and now even people who don't really believe in bad luck kinda play along for the fun of it.
I've always thought it's more about the vibe. Schools will tell you “Wow, today is unlucky!” and then businesses do these promotions on Friday the 13th, like horror movie marathons or cheap tickets. Even though doctors say accidents don't go up and the whole thing isn’t really backed by facts, I guess people just like having an excuse to be a little superstitious together. For me, it feels more like an unofficial holiday than something to actually be scared of.
Honestly, I think we just like having a day that brings everyone together over something kinda silly and spooky, especially if it means we get to eat popcorn and freak ourselves out at the movies!
