Honestly, it sounds kinda wild to me that the FCTA went and sealed off the PDP headquarters in Abuja. From what I've seen in the news, the whole thing started because of unpaid ground rent. So, the FCTA basically wanted to make a point and locked up a ton of places that hadn't paid, but the PDP office getting hit shook people up since it's a major political party's main base. I'd be super annoyed if I was working there and couldn't get in to do my job.
The PDP was not happy about it at all, and their acting chairman even said it was like an attack on democracy. I totally get why they'd feel that way because it looks pretty political, especially with the whole thing happening while there's tension between the PDP and Nyesom Wike, who's in charge at the FCT.
From my view, even though government rules are rules, shutting down a whole party's HQ over rent in a tense political time feels sketchy. Maybe the FCTA just wanted to show they're not taking any nonsense over unpaid bills, or maybe it was more than just the money. It's hard not to wonder about the real reasons when politics is involved.
