Honestly, it's wild to see someone like Olufemi Oladapo Soneye step down from such a huge gig at NNPC just for family and personal stuff. Most people in business, especially at that level, act like their whole life is their work. I've always thought execs would do anything to keep their positions, but seeing Soneye walk away makes me rethink that. Sometimes, I guess, the pressure or maybe even missing out on family moments just hits too hard. I remember my uncle once quit his corporate job because he barely saw his kids growing up, and now he's way happier with a simpler life. Soneye only spent like 20 months at NNPC after getting the job in 2023, and he talked a lot about being proud of his work and helping the company build its brand. But at the end of the day, he picked his family and personal stuff over a title. I kind of respect that—shows that even in serious business, people still crave a normal life sometimes. Can't blame the guy. Makes you wonder how many other leaders wish they could do the same.
