Honestly, the main reason Tinubu brought in emergency rule for Rivers State was to stop the political drama before it got completely out of hand. From what I've seen and read, things were getting so tense in the state that people were actually talking about anarchy. You know how politicians can push things to the edge! Fubara, who was the suspended governor, even thanked Tinubu for basically saving the state from a meltdown. It wasn't just about keeping peace — there was also a ton of pressure to make sure the state didn't totally collapse, which would’ve looked bad for Tinubu and the entire country honestly.

I've noticed a lot of people online saying this move might’ve also been about power, not just peace. Some say Tinubu used emergency rule to pull Fubara into the ruling party, APC, or at least weaken any strong opposition there. I get the feeling that if Tinubu hadn't stepped in, things could've gotten pretty ugly. So yeah, it was about controlling chaos, but it probably also helped him tighten his grip on Rivers State politically. That's politics for you!
