I've always wondered why Mohammed bin Salman eventually let women drive in Saudi Arabia back in 2018, especially considering it was a pretty conservative country. Some people think it was to make the country look better internationally, especially after all the controversy after the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. But in my opinion, it was more about getting more women into the workforce.
Think about it — by allowing women to drive, it makes it easier for them to get jobs, right? It's a whole new workforce potential! The country's trying to move away from just relying on oil money with their Vision 2030 plan, and having more people contributing economically can really help with that. And let's be real, tourism could also get a boost as the country loosens up some of its super strict rules.
Sure, some people complained the move wasn't entirely about women's rights, but more about money. But honestly, whatever the real motivation was, it's still a step forward for women there, and that's pretty amazing!
