Man, I was honestly shocked when I heard the Foo Fighters let Josh Freese go. He joined after Taylor Hawkins passed, and I thought he did an awesome job filling those giant shoes. From what I've read, the band just told him they were going in a different direction but never really said why. That seems kinda weird considering Josh is, like, one of the most talented drummers around and fit in with their sound so well.

A lot of people online are guessing maybe the band wants someone totally new, or maybe they just didn’t gel as much as we all thought. I’ve noticed this happens a lot in big bands – sometimes it’s not about talent at all, but just some behind-the-scenes drama or a shift in the group’s vibe. Feels like Josh was just as surprised as everyone else! I saw his post where he said he’ll keep moving forward, which is cool. I guess in these huge bands, even if you’re killing it, nothing’s ever guaranteed. It really makes me appreciate how wild and unpredictable the music industry is! If I were him, I’d be bummed but also excited for whatever’s next because he’s played with so many sick bands already. Super curious to see who Foo Fighters pick next!
