Oh man, the Nnamdi Kanu court thing in Kenya is way bigger than most people think. I remember seeing so many tweets and posts from people who aren't even Nigerian, and I kinda get why. Kanu isn’t just some random dude—he’s the leader of IPOB, and his case is tied to some pretty heated stuff about self-determination, human rights, and even international law.

The Kenyan court ruled that their own government messed up by letting Kanu get arrested, tortured, and secretly sent back to Nigeria in 2021. That totally goes against not just Kenyan law, but also big global rules about not just snatching people off the street 'cause some other country asked. I've read that courts don't usually call out their own governments like that, so it made people everywhere sit up and watch.

Honestly, people outside Nigeria care because if governments keep getting away with this, it could happen to activists, journalists, or anyone anywhere. The court giving Kanu money for damages also showed that you can win against powerful people sometimes. It feels kind of hopeful to see a regular court actually stand up for someone’s rights for once!
