Honestly, I think people hype up Obi Cubana and Lush Eby's marriage because they're kinda like power couple goals in Nigeria. Everywhere you look, you see their throwback wedding photos, huge anniversary parties, or lovey-dovey posts. I get it, too—the guy's rich, they look super happy, and it feels rare to see Nigerian celebs last 17 years together.
But to be real, I think social media just shows the best parts. I mean, who knows what goes on behind closed doors? I remember arguing with my cousin about this a week ago—he keeps calling them "perfect," but, come on, no couple is. People just want something positive to root for, especially when so many celeb relationships crash and burn.
I've noticed online that people love commenting “God when?” or saying their love is goals, but it's not that they're super different, it’s just that they’re open with celebrating wins and sticking it out together. That's something not everyone does publicly. Maybe it just feels good to focus on happy love stories for a change. It motivates people, even if it's not 100% the whole story. So yeah, I see why the hype exists, but I honestly don't think they're some magical exception. They're just really good at showing the good times and making people believe in lasting love.
