Honestly, I get why people say ECOWAS doesn't always fix the most controversial stuff, like military coups or all the issues with migration. Like, I’ve read stories where ECOWAS threatens leaders with sanctions or sends in peacekeepers, but sometimes nothing really changes, which is super frustrating for normal people watching all the chaos on the news.

I think the problem is, ECOWAS has to get all the member countries to agree before they do anything big, and some leaders just don't want outside interference, especially if it means losing power themselves. Also, they're always walking a tightrope between respecting each country's independence and trying to solve problems that literally mess up the whole region.

In my experience, a lot of kids my age just wish they would act faster and actually make people in power listen. I remember when there was all that news about coups in Mali and Niger, and everyone kept waiting for something to happen. It's like everyone wants ECOWAS to be the hero, but it's really hard when not everyone wants help. Still, I guess they're still one of the only groups in the region even trying to solve these big problems.
