People love legends, and the Undertaker basically became a legend while still wrestling. When I was a kid, I remember everyone pretending to do his creepy sit-up move after lying down. And that gong sound? Gives me chills even now.

Plus, he always did new crazy matches like Hell in a Cell and the Casket match, and that kept things interesting.
