A lot of people keep saying Rory McIlroy peaked a long time ago, but I just don’t buy it, especially after his latest Masters win. The guy just finished his Grand Slam and did it while playing some of his best golf at age 36—which is not even old for pro golfers. I’ve noticed some fans always want to find the “next big thing” and forget how insane it is just to stay on top this long.
What they're missing is that Rory is actually way more relaxed about his future now. He said he wants to play for fun and not get lost in the stats. I honestly think that could mean he wins even more now, ’cause the pressure’s gone. Plus, look at players like Phil Mickelson who kept winning big titles in their 40s. I don’t see any reason Rory can’t keep being a force for a while. So yeah, I think people calling time on his career are way off—he’s got plenty more to give if you ask me.
