Why does espn+ keep tracking so much info about what I watch and do on their app? Does it even help me or is it just for ads?

Oh, I feel you on this! Every time I go on espn+ just to catch a Dodgers game or see some UFC fights, I notice how much the app suggests what to watch or keeps pushing certain highlights. From what I've read and totally experienced myself, espn+ collects info about what you watch, search for, and even stuff you fill out. The main reason, at least what they say, is to make the app more "personal" so you see highlights and games you'll probably care about first.

But honestly, sometimes it feels like it's just for showing you targeted ads or getting you to keep watching more. I mean, I get why they wanna know what teams or sports I'm into, but it can feel kinda invasive, like they're all up in my biz when all I want is to watch baseball or soccer. It does help when it throws up stuff I actually like, but I wish there was more of a choice. So yeah, it's supposed to help you find what you like quicker, but most of the time I just ignore the suggestions and search what I want anyway. Just part of using a streaming app like this, I guess!
