Why is Manchester United playing a friendly match against a Hong Kong team instead of tougher clubs, and does it actually help them improve or is it just for money and exposure?

Honestly, it kinda blows my mind that Manchester United picked Hong Kong for a friendly. Like, shouldn't they play against a team that's super competitive if they wanna improve? But from what I've seen, these big clubs love going to Asia for the fans and to earn more cash. I remember when my cousin's favorite team did a summer tour in Asia, and suddenly he could buy jerseys everywhere. So, it's probably more about getting attention, growing their fanbase, and making some extra money than anything to do with getting better at football.

Yeah, it's cool for fans in Hong Kong because Man United doesn't come by every year. But if you ask me if it helps Man United get better on the field, not really. I'd guess the players aren't giving 100 percent since it's just a friendly, and the competition from Hong Kong isn't the same as what they'd face in England or Europe. So yeah, it feels more like a business trip than a serious match. But hey, at least the fans get something exciting out of it!
