Honestly, I get why everyone’s heated about the anime awards 2025 winners this year. A lot of people thought some shows that were fan favorites totally got snubbed, while others that were just okay ended up winning the big awards. For example, one of the most talked-about dramas got ignored in the main categories even though everyone online was obsessed with it all season. Instead, the awards went to a few blockbuster hits that, yeah, were good, but maybe didn’t deserve every win.

I’ve noticed each year there’s always some arguing about what the judges are actually looking for. Sometimes it feels like they care more about what’s popular than what’s actually good. I remember last year when a smaller, artistic anime actually won and people were so happy about it, but this year it was all about the big studios again. People love to debate which series really deserved it, and some even say the process isn’t fair at all. Honestly, I just think people get really fired up about stuff they love, and these wins feel pretty personal to fans. I’m still just glad anime’s getting so much attention though!
