Honestly, I totally get why people are hyped but also kinda side-eyeing the 28 years later zombie film review. Like, come on, the original 28 Days Later pretty much changed how we look at zombie movies—it was intense, messy, and actually scary. So, yeah, there’s a lot of nostalgia and super high expectations from fans who grew up on it, or even just caught up later.
But here’s the thing: sequels rarely hit the same vibe as the classics, you know? People are worried this one’s just riding the name for clout, especially because it’s been so long. Reviews say the new cast is awesome and Danny Boyle is back, which makes it sound promising, but tons of fans remember how 28 Weeks Later struggled to match the first one’s energy. Some critics love the emotional stuff and the shots filmed on iPhone, but others think nothing can ever capture that raw, grim feeling from the original.
From the reviews I’ve read and talks with my friends, I’d say most people are excited because it’s Danny Boyle, but there’s always that worry it’ll be a cash grab. Like me, a lot of us want it to be awesome—just not too slick or Hollywood, you know? Fingers crossed it actually delivers!
