Yeah, so Pete Rose has been the biggest "what-if" in baseball for like forever, at least in my house. He got banned way back in 1989 because he bet on baseball games when he was a player and manager. My dad always told me Rose never bet against his own team, but MLB said gambling ruins trust, so he was cut off from the game completely. For years, fans and sports people argued about it because he's the all-time hits leader, but the rules were super strict about no betting.

Now, there's this new move where players who were banned for life are eligible for the Hall of Fame after they die. Rose actually died in 2023, so with these rule changes, he's technically finally eligible. But, it's super weird because he was alive for so long, wanting this honor, and only now do they maybe let him in when he can't even see it. Kinda feels like the system said "oops, too late." I honestly think he should've been in the Hall way sooner. Guess we'll see what happens in 2028 when he might actually get voted in. What a wild story.
