Honestly, I was surprised the Al Fateh vs Al-Nassr match was so close! Al-Nassr is supposed to be way better, right? They finished third this season while Al Fateh was back at twelfth, which is a huge gap. But if there's one thing I've noticed watching these games, it's that rankings can totally go out the window, especially on the last day of the season.
Sometimes the underdogs play extra hard because they’ve got nothing to lose. Al Fateh probably just wanted to prove a point and make their fans proud, which you can really feel in the way the match played out. Plus, Al-Nassr might've already had their minds elsewhere, like with all the drama since Cristiano Ronaldo hinted he’s leaving. Maybe the team was distracted or they just didn't want to risk injuries before the transfer window opens.
I've seen lower-ranked teams beat or almost beat top sides just cause of extra motivation or some unexpected plays. That's what makes football so cool – it’s never a sure thing! No matter the stats or big names, anything can happen on the pitch. If you missed the match, you definitely missed a rollercoaster.
