Well, it's a tricky one. Gérard Depardieu's been in the movie scene forever, and many see him as a legend.
But then, bam! With the recent conviction for sexual assault, things aren't looking so hot for him. I mean, come on, being found guilty of something that serious leaves a huge dent in any actor’s reputation. He's already facing backlash, and the internet's been buzzing like a giant beehive about it.
In all honesty, I've seen cases where celebs managed to slide back into the scene after bad headlines, but it's gonna be tough for Depardieu. He's 76, which makes it even harder to regain what he's lost. Fans and producers might shy away from him, especially because of all the #MeToo movement momentum.
That said, some folks in the industry, like Vincent Perez and Fanny Ardant, have still shown their support, so there's a small chance he might get a shot. But who knows? Maybe he'll pull a total career flip and try something new! 🤔
I've got friends who still talk about how iconic his roles in Cyrano de Bergerac or The Count of Monte Cristo were, but who’s to say if he'll ever top those again?
