Man, this is the thing that's got me worrying most. Dale's voice was so iconic, and Johnny Hardwick basically was that character for me. The King of the Hill reboot on Hulu is gonna feel super weird with someone else doing Dale. I've seen other shows try to replace classic voice actors, and it almost never feels right at first. I remember when The Simpsons switched a couple voices, and fans totally freaked out.

At the same time, the rest of the cast is coming back, so that's cool, and maybe the new Dale voice will grow on us over time. But I'm not gonna lie, it’s gonna feel off in the beginning. It might work if they get someone who doesn’t just do an impression, but actually makes Dale their own, kind of like how people switch up Batman voices and sometimes it still works. It’s a bummer for sure, but I'm willing to give it a shot because the rest of the characters are just too great to miss out on. I hope the new actor respects Dale’s style, but I guess we’ll just have to see. It’s one of those things you gotta experience yourself before judging.
