Absolutely, an AEDC electricity strike would hit businesses super hard in Abuja and those states around it. I remember when there was a power outage for just one day about a year ago—people couldn't work from home, shops shut down, ATMs stopped working, and factories lost a crazy amount of money. With this strike threat, it could be way worse because it's not just a technical problem but the workers are actually refusing to manage the whole grid.
Pretty much every company relies on steady electricity, especially banks, hotels, hospitals, and small shops. Even phone charging kiosks and internet cafes would be out of luck. What’s nuts is that big companies and government offices usually have backup generators, but the fuel price is no joke now. So if the grid goes down across these four states for even a few days, things could spiral. Imagine losing Wi-Fi in school, or restaurants chucking out spoiled food!
So if the bosses at AEDC don't sort things out fast, you can bet banks, restaurants, and even regular families are going to feel it. Nobody wants to work or run a business in blackout mode. Power is basically everything these days.
