I’ve actually thought about this a lot because it feels like Apple just keeps cranking up the prices and expects everyone to throw money at them. If the iphone 17 pro max gets way too expensive, I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of people just skip it and keep their old iPhones. I remember when my dad decided not to upgrade from his 13 because the new ones just felt way too pricey.

There's also way more competition now, and a lot of brands are dropping phones with almost the same features for less cash. Some people might finally snap and go for something cheaper. And if more people do that, it could totally mess with Apple’s reputation like "oh, they're just out to drain your bank account."

But, on the flip side, Apple has a crazy loyal fanbase. Some people will always pay no matter what, especially if the phone actually lives up to the hype with all the camera and chip upgrades. Still, if Apple keeps this up, they could push people away over time, especially kids like me who can’t keep asking parents for $1500 every year.
