So yeah, I totally think the Nnamdi Kanu court ruling in Kenya could shake things up for other activists. I've spent hours scrolling through news and TikToks about people protesting or getting grabbed by the police for their beliefs. When the Kenyan court said it was illegal for their government to help snatch and send Kanu back to Nigeria, it gave people on the continent a reason to hope.

From what I get, before this, a lot of activists used to just disappear after crossing certain borders. Governments can get sneaky with these renditions, and courts usually look the other way. Now, the judge basically said, “Nope, that’s not right,” and even made the Kenyan government pay Kanu a ton of money for what happened. That's a big deal.

My personal take is that other leaders will have to think twice before pulling stuff like this. People all over Africa are hyped, and even some lawyers are saying this could be a "judicial earthquake". If courts stick to this new attitude, maybe activists will feel a bit safer speaking up. Honestly, it gives me a bit of hope for the future.
