For sure, I think Joe Biden’s prostate cancer is going to make people pay way more attention to how healthy their politicians are. Like, I remember when he first ran, everyone kept arguing if he was too old for the job, and now with this diagnosis, it’s kind of like more proof that age and health matter a lot in politics.
People already love to talk about how old government leaders are, and this just adds fuel to the fire. I’ve even seen memes about politicians being way too old to run the country. I also think it’ll make voters ask for more info about candidates’ health records or want them to be way more open about what’s going on. Some might even start thinking we need younger leaders or at least leaders who can handle crazy-stressful jobs without getting sick all the time.
I get wanting experience, but there’s gotta be a balance. Maybe this will finally make everyone realize politicians aren’t superheroes and that it’s okay to talk about their health without being mean about it. Either way, I think Joe Biden’s situation is a huge wake-up call for everyone voting or running for office. Just my two cents!
