How has Netflix made people watch TV and movies differently than before? I’m curious what actually changed because of Netflix.

Netflix totally changed everything about how people watch TV and movies, at least for most teens I know. Back when my parents were growing up, they had to wait for a show to come on TV at a certain time or go rent a DVD. But Netflix made it so you could just watch anything, whenever you wanted. Like, binge-watching wasn’t even a thing before. Now, it's weird to wait a whole week for a new episode like we have to with some other streaming platforms.

Also, people got way more used to watching stuff on their phones or laptops. My friends and I just chill out in someone’s room with snacks and play whatever we want—I don’t even know anyone who has cable. And having so much stuff from around the world is wild; you can watch Korean dramas or Spanish thrillers right away.

So yeah, Netflix made it normal for people to watch shows all at once, skip commercials, and just control what they're watching. I honestly can't imagine not having that.
