To be real, politics in Nigeria since June 12, 1993, is kinda like running in circles. Sure, we don't have the military in charge anymore and there's way more talk about democracy, but loads of old habits are still around. Like, elections still have craziness – ballot box snatching, vote buying, that stuff hasn't gone away. I remember watching the last election on TV and people were literally fighting in polling stations, which is wild to me.

Some things did change, though. We have better laws now, like the 2022 Electoral Act, and a bunch of tech for voting. But, honestly, most people I know don't trust that it's much different. Politicians still do deals behind the scenes instead of actually letting regular people have a say. My neighbor went to vote in 2023 and said he didn't feel safe, so he probably won't bother next time.

If you ask me, the biggest change is just that people talk more about politics now, especially on social media. But the real deep problems from back then? Still kinda the same. People want fair play and for their voices to matter, but it feels like, since June 12, not much has changed like we hoped.
