This Kroger home delivery shutdown is a big deal for both the workers and the people who used it a lot. I’ve talked to cashiers and folks doing the actual delivering, and most of them are kind of worried about their jobs now since there’s one less thing to do. They either have to move to store pickup or maybe work in other parts of the grocery, which not everyone wants. It’s gotta be stressful not knowing if you’ll get shifted or let go.

For customers, I’ve seen a lot of posts online complaining because home delivery was super convenient—especially for older people or anyone who can’t really get out easily. Now they’ll have to do curbside pickup or try other delivery apps, but that sometimes costs more or takes longer. One of my neighbors was upset because she relies on delivery for everything since she doesn’t drive. Feels a bit like Kroger is leaving those people out now.

It’s not just about convenience—all these small changes can mess with people’s routines, jobs, and even budgets. I get why Kroger did it, but it’s definitely not great for everyone affected.
