That’s the kind of question I always think about with famous people. Part of me thinks Brian Wilson might’ve had a more chill life if he wasn’t famous, since a lot of his issues got way worse with all the pressure from being in the spotlight. Like, imagine not having to deal with non-stop expectations from your family, fans, and the record company. I feel like anyone would crack from that, especially if you’re already dealing with stuff mentally.

But then again, some of his problems started before he got famous, like issues with his dad being super controlling. If he’d lived a regular life, maybe he’d still have had those same family problems. Plus, if music was his thing from the start, he might not have been happy not making music, you know? I read somewhere he was already writing songs as a kid just for fun.

Either way, fame definitely made everything bigger and messier. I can’t help but wonder how things could’ve been different, but I guess there’s no way to really know. It’s sad to think about, honestly, since he brought so much to music and still had to go through so much tough stuff.
