You know, a lot of people just blame inmates for jail escapes, but after reading about the New Orleans situation, it really feels like the city is kinda asking for it. For years, they haven't paid for better locks or enough staff. Seriously, the sheriff said they needed $5.2 million for new locks and the city was all nope. Plus, violent inmates were being kept where only low-risk people should be—so of course it's easier for them to get out.
I've seen in my own school when people don't take rules seriously, stuff gets messy fast. Seems like the jail's management just ignored all the signs there was about to be trouble. It's not just about the inmates being "bad"—it's like both sides made big mistakes. Figuring out who to blame isn't so clear, but honestly, if adults in charge had done their jobs and fixed what's broken, those guys wouldn't have had a chance to escape in the first place.
