I used to think student loans were only for people who already had connections, but with nelfund, I feel like things are changing a bit. I know of a few people from my parents’ neighborhood who probably wouldn’t be in school at all right now if they didn’t get some help from nelfund this year. Like, almost 300,000 students getting the loans is no joke—imagine going to class knowing half your friends paid with this fund!

Maybe it doesn’t solve every problem, ‘cause private and state school students are mostly still left out for now. But it’s got people talking about making school less about "who can pay the most" and more about "who wants to learn." I do wonder if they’ll ever make it big enough for everyone, though. My older sister’s worried her uni won’t get included next year, so there’s still stuff they need to fix. But honestly, for a government program, it seems more real than most promises you hear about, and that’s something.
