Honestly, I’ve been wondering the same thing. Netflix always talks up these "final seasons" but half the time, another spinoff pops up a year later because everyone’s still obsessed. From what I’ve seen, the creator Hwang Dong-hyuk said this is supposed to be the end of the main story and he seems pretty dead set against a happy ending or dragging it out just for money. Season 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back and he was really focused on keeping the main message about how messed up things get when you’ve got this much desperation and greed. But still, Netflix loves money, and they’ve already brought up the idea of maybe doing a prequel or even focusing on side characters or stuff like the three-year gap between the first two seasons. So yeah, I think season 3 is gonna finish Gi-hun’s story, but I wouldn’t be shocked if we get another Squid Game-related show down the line. That’s just how these things work, right? If people keep watching, Netflix finds a way to keep it alive. It kinda feels like they never let anything truly end if there's cash to be made! If you’re a big fan, just enjoy this last season but keep an eye out for those surprise announcements. The way things go, the games might just keep coming back.
