Funny enough, this isn’t even the first time there’s been a jail escape in New Orleans. I remember reading that the city actually has a pretty wild history with inmates getting out, sometimes with inside help and sometimes because the building or tech is super old and not kept up. Like, it sounds straight out of a movie, but yeah, there have been a few well-known escapes if you look up the history.
It's kinda frustrating because you’d think after one jailbreak, they’d fix whatever went wrong. But I’ve seen news stories say that stuff like defective locks and not enough staff just keep coming up, year after year. Even people who live in New Orleans aren’t shocked anymore when this stuff hits the news! For me, it’s just a reminder that if you don’t seriously fix problems, they just keep coming back. Makes me wonder if someone actually wants these stories to stay under the radar or if it's just people not doing their jobs.
