Honestly, it's pretty messy. On one hand, the news is everywhere about Godwin Emefiele supposedly stealing money while he was the Central Bank governor, but then I saw that a key witness, who used to work with him, literally told the court there’s no record of some of these big payments people are talking about—like that $400,000 one. That kinda makes me pause, you know? Like, if they can’t find proof in all these official records and bank systems, maybe not all the rumors are true. Or maybe the people accusing him just didn’t do their homework.

From the articles, it sounds like the investigation is still going, and not every accusation has backed up evidence. I’ve noticed in cases like this, it can end up being about politics as much as actual crimes. Until there’s real, clear proof presented in court, I’m not totally convinced either way, and I know a lot of Nigerians feel the same. I just want them to actually show the evidence, not just talk. Watching this case unfold is honestly like a real-life crime show. But for now, I’d say nobody outside the court really knows all the facts.
