Man, the whole Israel Eurovision song thing this year was wild. The singer Yuval Raphael was up there doing her song New Day Will Rise in Basel, and protesters legit tried to storm the stage. I mean, can you imagine that kind of pressure? She was totally shaken, and one of the crew got hit with paint. Security stopped it quick, but it was messy. The audience was all over the place, with some people booing and others cheering. Outside, there were massive protests against Israel being in the contest because of everything going down in Gaza. People had Boycott Israel shirts, fake blood, the works. Even some former Eurovision contestants wanted Israel out, but the officials let them stay. I've never seen so much drama around a Eurovision song. It was intense, and I'm pretty sure everyone will remember this year for all the controversy, not just the music.
