Honestly, I think a lot of the hate Bella Ramsey gets for playing Ellie is just people freaking out over change. From what I’ve seen, most of the trolls online are mad that Bella doesn’t look exactly like the video game version of Ellie, even though her acting is actually amazing. Some of these fans just can’t accept a new face in a role they’ve obsessed over for years. I get liking the original, but it’s kinda messed up to attack someone over their looks or how they identify. Like, Bella even gets hate for being non-binary, which has nothing to do with acting. I’ve watched The Last of Us with friends, and we all thought Bella nailed the complicated emotions Ellie has. There’s always going to be haters on the internet, but so many people also support Bella and have called out the toxic fans. It just sucks to see how easily people forget there’s a real person behind that character. If you ask me, Bella's doing a killer job, and I hope haters eventually chill out.
