I get why people keep talking about this, honestly. Every other guy who ran Ekiti State before biodun oyebanji either lost re-election, got kicked out, or just couldn’t get enough support to try again. But with oyebanji, people are actually not fighting him much, which is super weird for Ekiti. I even heard some big opposition politicians are just, like, "okay, let him finish his projects."
In my view, it’s probably his friendly vibe and how he isn’t picking fights. He always says he asks past governors for help and includes different groups in decision-making. That’s super rare. Plus, he’s done stuff in schools, roads, hospitals—so people see changes in their daily lives, which matters a lot more than political promises.
Most students and even my uncle (who’s crazy about politics) say no Ekiti governor got this much love from both the political "big men" and regular folks. I think if oyebanji keeps it up, he might really be the first to break the jinx—but this is Nigeria, so you never know until the votes are counted!
