Oh, this is straight up about sticking to your guns. When the Akwa Ibom governor dumped PDP for APC, a bunch of his commissioners were supposed to follow him, but not all did. Some, like Ini Ememobong, didn't want to just switch sides because principles and beliefs actually matter a lot to some people. It's not just about keeping a cool government job—they wanna stand for what they believe is right and not just chase after power.
I've talked to some uncles into politics and they always say it's easy to follow power if you don't care, but if you actually care about your party’s ideas or what they've stood for all this time, switching is a big thing. These commissioners resigned because they didn't want to represent a party they didn't trust or believe in. It's kind of brave honestly, and it shows that politics isn’t just a job—it’s kind of like a team or a family for some people.
Plus, people in Nigeria pay attention to this stuff. If you just switch for personal gain, you can lose respect. So party loyalty is still a real thing for a lot of politicians.
