Honestly, I think Fubara visiting Tinubu like that was a straight-up move to save his own neck. Everyone's gossiping about what went on behind those closed doors, but if you look at the timing, it makes sense. After being suspended and all that drama with Wike, Fubara had pretty much nothing to lose. It feels like he went to Tinubu hoping to cut a deal that'd either get him back in office faster or at least keep him off the chopping block when the emergency rule ends.

My uncle lives in Rivers State, and he told me people there are just desperate for things to cool down already. From the news, it sounds like Fubara even told Tinubu he was willing to put aside his ego for the sake of peace. Personally, I think he just realized fighting Wike and the assembly alone wasn't working, so he hoped Tinubu could play peacemaker or at least help him make a comeback. A lot of folks are saying this could set some weird precedent, but right now, Fubara looked like he was basically begging Tinubu to help him patch things up before September comes rolling around.
