Why did President Tinubu agree to let Fubara stay as Rivers State governor, but give Wike all the power to pick local government chairpersons and set all those conditions? Does this actually fix anything or just give Wike even more control?

Honestly, the whole Tinubu, Wike, and Fubara thing in Rivers State feels kinda wild to me. If I'm being real, when I heard that Tinubu said Fubara could be governor again as long as he doesn't run in 2027 and has to let Wike pick all the local chairpersons, my first thought was, isn't that just putting Wike in charge without the title? Like, I get that there was a crisis and oil stuff at risk, but this doesn't seem like a fair peace deal at all.

I've seen deals like this before in class projects where one person still gets all the control, but everyone pretends things are fine just to stop the fighting. In this case, I think Wike basically gets to keep running things from behind the scenes. Fubara pretty much has to just chill and not fight back, or he's out.

Tinubu probably just wants things stable so he can focus on his own stuff, like the BRICS summit and those meetings in Saint Lucia. But for people in Rivers, I don't know if this actually helps them. It might just keep old grudges alive and make politics in the state even messier later. People always talk about democracy, but this seems more like trading favors if you ask me.
