I get why people still aren’t sure about Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Even though he’s president now and has tons of fans, there’s this feeling that he’s been mixed up in too many controversies from when he was governor of Lagos. People talk a lot about that Alpha Beta thing from back in 2002 – like, did he give his friends special deals or not? It just makes people suspicious, you know? Plus, politicians in Nigeria don’t have a great reputation in the first place, so anyone who’s been around a long time like Tinubu will always have people questioning their real motives.

Also, he was a big figure in the old political system, so even though he says he wants change, some people feel like he’s just keeping the same crew in power. I’ve asked my parents and they’re like, "he’s been in politics for so long – how different can he be when all his friends are the same too?" So yeah, it’s not just about what he does as president, but all the stuff piled up from his past. In my experience, trust takes longer to build than just winning an election.
