People always tell you that FAMU is strict with deadlines, and honestly, it’s not just a rumor. I remember when my cousin tried to add a class after the deadline—she had to pay a late fee and almost couldn’t get into the class. The first day of classes is strict, and if you don’t get your stuff together for registration or housings, like by August, you can totally mess up your semester.
FAMU posts all these key dates for registration, housing, residency, all that, and if you miss even one, you’re kinda stuck. It’s actually a good thing because it keeps everything organized, but it can feel super stressful if you’re not used to planning ahead. Everyone says it’s strict because they post the rules early, and honestly, they stick to them. I learned to just put reminders in my phone for every date on the calendar so I’m not running around last minute. In my opinion, it’s tough love, but it helps you figure out how to manage your time which you need for school…and real life too.
