I seriously get why people worry about their Netflix subscription, but I think a lot of us are blaming the wrong thing. Like, I've seen posts online where people act like spending $10 or $20 a month is the reason they're not saving any money, but that's kinda missing the point. It feels easier to point at something small like Netflix instead of looking at big stuff, like how much we spend eating out or just random impulse buys (I’m guilty of that!).
I remember my aunt making a huge deal about cancelling her Netflix and thinking it would help her save, but then she'd go buy concert tickets or new shoes and spend way more. Olamide Majekodunmi on LinkedIn actually said the same thing: it’s not your Netflix subscription making you broke, it’s other money habits. I try to remind myself it's not about the subscription, it's about the bigger picture. Just pick the plan that matches what you actually use, and don't sweat the small stuff. Anyone else realize cutting Netflix didn’t really make their wallet fatter?
