Whenever I see 'PL' at the end of a company name or project, I always wonder what it means too! From what I've found out hanging around different business events and reading business news, PL usually stands for 'Poland' if we're talking about companies or organizations in or related to Poland. But that's not the only use! Sometimes, it could mean 'Private Limited' in some business settings, like how in England they say 'Ltd' and in India or Australia, it's 'Pvt Ltd' or 'PL.'
In finance or tech in Europe though, especially with research projects or startups, PL almost always points to Poland. That's why you see it in things like DARIAH-PL or PSNC.pl. Plus, it's a way to let everyone know this company's roots or target market. When I was applying for internships, I noticed international companies use PL to show they're part of the Polish business network, so it helps with branding and trust too. It's kinda funny because it's such a short thing but says a lot about the company if you know what you're looking for.
