Honestly, I think most people believe the Annabelle doll is haunted because of all the wild stories and the way movies hype it up. In the original story, the doll belonged to a girl named Donna back in the 70s, and weird things started happening, like the doll moving places and leaving creepy notes. Then her friend got attacked by some invisible thing with claw marks, which sounds like straight-up horror movie material, right? All that got picked up by Ed and Lorraine Warren, who were famous paranormal investigators, and that made things blow up even more.
There's never been real, scientific proof that Annabelle is haunted; it's pretty much just the stories from people who owned her and the Warrens themselves. Like, I've watched a bunch of ghost hunter shows and no one has caught Annabelle moving on camera. But the idea is so scary that people kind of want to believe it. For me, it’s more about the legend than anything actually proven. It makes for a great scary story, and that’s why everyone’s obsessed with it!
