I've always wondered this! So many people just assume "regular" college is the only way to get ahead, but honestly, that’s not true. Sometimes I feel like tvet education is looked down on, as if you’re "settling" for it, even though jobs in trades, health, or tech pay really well. At my school, counselors mainly push everyone toward university, and no one really talks about vocational stuff unless you ask.

My uncle says a tvet program helped him start his own construction business. He makes more than most teachers! Maybe it's just old attitudes — like people thinking white-collar jobs are the best — but that’s changing because people are tired of huge student loans and no jobs. Places like RCTC are getting recognized for their students’ big achievements, which proves it works.

So, more families and students should think about what’s right for them. If you like working with your hands or learning specific skills, tvet education is actually a smart pick. I really think it’s starting to catch on more now!
