Honestly, I think Hulu picked King of the Hill for a reboot because it's way safer than starting from scratch with a new animated show. Everybody knows Hank Hill and the crew, so there's already a built-in fanbase that's gonna watch no matter what. Making a new show is risky, especially when people get so picky about cartoons nowadays. Hulu probably figured if Netflix and Disney+ are living off reboots and sequels, why not just bring back something we all grew up with?
Plus, nostalgia is a huge moneymaker right now. Lots of us want to watch shows that remind us of when things felt easier, even if it's just animated dudes drinking beer in an alley. I sometimes wish studios would take more risks with totally new ideas, but I also get it, business-wise. King of the Hill is basically a guaranteed hit for them, so I don’t blame Hulu for going this route, even if it's not the most creative move.
